10 Years of the National Latina Equal Pay Campaign:
The Fight for Justice Continues

ABOUT
Over a decade ago, the Equal Pay Today Coalition made the important decision to observe equal pay days for women across different demographic groups, including Latinas. By doing so, we can better tell the story of how the pay gap impacts women and LGBTQIA+ communities based on race, gender identity, occupation, migration status, and geography.

Together, we built, grew, and activated a major campaign united around the issue of pay equity for Latinas, as well as all working people. The National Latina Equal Pay Campaign is co-led by Justice for Migrant Women (@mujerxsrising) and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (@lclaa) on behalf of the Equal Pay Today Coalition (@equalpay2dayorg).

Latinas are one of the fastest-growing and most powerful groups in the United States, excelling in every sector and industry. Yet, despite these contributions, in 2023 Latinas continued to face an abysmal pay gap — earning, on average, just 51 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. This figure includes part-time, seasonal, and migrant workers. For full-time, year-round workers, the wage gap improves slightly, but still stands at only 58 cents on the dollar. These disparities remain a stark reflection of the economic hurdles Latinas continue to encounter.

On this day, and every day, we call on leaders, advocates, and allies across the country to take action as champions of gender and racial parity. Equal pay for Latinas is not just a one-day fight — it is a daily demand for dignity, fairness, and justice.

Your stories and memories are a powerful part of this movement!
Women deserve equal access to high-paying jobs in the construction trades—but the Department of Labor’s proposed changes would roll back protections that ensure women and people of color can enter and succeed in these careers. Take action today—submit an official comment to the Department of Labor to protect women’s access to apprenticeship programs and defend equity in the trades.
Latinas are one of the lowest paid groups of any major race/ethnicity and gender group and are only paid 51 cents for each dollar a White Non-Latino man is paid. Join us in urging federal lawmakers to swiftly pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. This legislation modernizes and strengthens the Equal Pay Act of 1963, combating pay discrimination and closing the wage gap.
